Getting Started

  • Your card is activated and ready to use when you leave Southern Security

Using Your Card

  • You may use your card at any merchant that accepts the VISA debit card. Look for the Visa logo.
  • You may not use this card for PIN-based transactions. When asked, “Debit or Credit” select “Credit” and sign each receipt.
  • This card may not be exchanged for cash or credit.
  • If you want to make a purchase that exceeds the balance on your card and pay the difference with another method, you can. Please inform the merchant before starting the transaction.
  • Restaurants: For purchases made at a restaurant, the amount requested for authorization from VISA will be increased by 20% to allow for gratuity to be added by you. The entire amount should be available on the card or it will be declined. However, only the amount you authorize will be charged against the card.
  • ATMs: This card does not allow for cash withdrawals from ATMs
  • Expiration: This card is valid through the expiration date shown on the front of your card or until there is a $0 balance. The funds are available for 5 years after the initial load or the date of last use, which ever is longer. You will lose any balance after the funds’ expiration date.

Knowing Your Card Balance

You can check your balance and review recent transactions online at any time, free of charge. You can do this 24/7 at ConsumerCardAccess.com/CUGift2 or by calling toll-free to 866-833-2370.

Lost or Stolen Cards

To report a lost or stolen card call 866-833-2370. Contact Southern Security for your replacement card at 800-633-4128. Zero Liability Visa’s Zero Liability policy protects you from liability for unauthorized use of your card. You will need to provide your card number.

Closed, Lost or Stolen Card Replacement Fee

To close or replace a lost or stolen card.

Service Fee

$5 per month

For inactivity.  If you fail to use your card for 13 months you will be assessed a monthly fee until activity resumes, the card expires or the balance reaches $0, whichever is earlier.

International Transaction Fees

0.8% ­­– 1%

International transaction fees will be assessed up to 1% of the transaction amount for international transactions where a currency conversion occurs; or 0.8% of the transaction amount where a currency conversion is not performed.  You agree to pay the converted amount plus any applicable international transaction fees.
