If you have multiple accounts with a variety of ownerships, you can request Southern Security link your accounts. This allows you to login to CU Online (including Mobile App and Mobile Web) and MoneyTalk to get balances and other information on all of your accounts at once. This saves you time and makes it easier to transfer funds from one account to another.
For example, you and your spouse have a joint account and you have your own, individual account. Southern Security can link the accounts to which you are an owner so that you can view all of your accounts via CU Online (or hear totals via Money Talk). You can also make transfers between accounts – as from your individual savings into your joint checking account.
Note that your joint owner cannot obtain your individual balances. This feature is especially helpful for parents and students with accounts. You can link your accounts so that you can transfer funds to your student's account. However, your student cannot wipe out your account (provided he/she is not a joint owner on your account). Account links are contingent upon account ownership. Southern Security can only link accounts for which you are an owner or joint owner. Oftentimes your business accounts may be able to link to your personal accounts. However, there are some that cannot.
To request your accounts to be linked, please contact any location to make the request.
