About

Our History

Chartered in 1948, Southern Security originally served the employees of Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in North Memphis. When the plant closed in 1982, the credit union diversified its membership and thrived in the struggling economy. With growth came additional branch locations and member conveniences. We now have over 50 employees across our 12 locations serving members from over 500 distinct companies, ever strengthening our financial position.

Our Mission

We recognize that each member’s needs are unique.  We are here to meet those unique needs – whether that's through providing savings options, being a lending source or simply providing convenience.
